Carrie and Madi volunteered to help at a fund raiser for the father of a little girl in Madi's class who has stage 4 Colon cancer. We made yummy Rhodes Cinnamon and Orange Rolls to sell.
How cute is Madi without her front teeth?...

My Grandma...
I am sorry to say that I never knew my Grandma's...My dad's Mom died when he was 9 and my other Grandma lived in England. I did go there when I was 2 but I really don't remember her. My Dad's Aunt raised him so we called her Grandma...Her name was Emma...She was a very nice woman with a very strong English Accent. I can remember going to her house in Provo on Sunday's and thinking she lived so far away. She was a wonderful cook and always made us Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddings.
My favortie memory of Grandma, is her humming the hymn "Oh My Father" it seems to me she was always humming this hymn. Another memory is that she used to soak her teeth in a cup overnight. It used to gross me out...who takes their teeth out? (Kim? just kidding) I wish I knew her better. I think because I never got to be close to my Grandmothers I am making sure I am close to my Grandchildren. I LOVE BEING A GRANDMA!!!

Tag...You're It...
So...Kim got this beautiful vase for her 40th Birthday. It was to remind her of her Grandma, who apparently made everything out of shells! Such as dolls, vases, etc... She brought it to me and put it on my desk and told me that I could have it. I said "No Thanks" but she left it anyway. I took it back to her office the next morning. Well today I just happened to look up and saw it on my shelf with the American Flag stuck in it. I guess it has been there for a few days, I just never noticed it. So I called Kim and she said "Tag you're it"
So together we decided if this beautiful vase appears on your desk or you get tagged thru your blog...then you have to tell something nice about your grandmother...after all Kim's grandmother is the one who started it all by making this, dare I say it? Beautiful Shell Vase!

Lindsey Ann...
Lindsey is my pick for today...Where do I begin? Lindsey is MY HAPPY DAY!...She makes me laugh every single day. Even when she was little and I was yelling at her for something she did or didn't do (like cleaning her room) she would make me laugh.
I can always count on Lindsey she has always been there for me. I tell her everything, sometimes more than she would like to know. She is a good mommy to Hunter and Cole and she loves those little boys and her husband so much!
Here are the things I love about Lindsey:
Her Smile...
Her Humor...
Her Kindness...
Her Sensitivity...
Her Willingness to Help...
Her Love for her Boys...
Her Love for her Husband...
Her Love for her Sister...
Her Love for her Brothers...
Her Love for ME...
Her Love for her Father...
Her Emotions...Highs and Lows
Her Beautiful Face...
Her Blue Eyes...
Her Passion...
Thank you Lindsey for everything. I sure do Love You!

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.
Which Disney Princess Are You?

Softball...
Last night was Madi's last softball game.
They won the game and I think they took 1st place...This was Madi's first year to play softball. She did such a good job. Madi is such a good little athlete...she tries very hard to do a good job at everything she does. They take turns at all the positions...so sometimes she was the catcher (sorry about the blurry pics)...and sometimes she was in the outfield, or second base. She did a good job wherever they put her.I Love my little Sofball Player!

FAT CATS...And the PIZZA FACTORY...
Virgil and I decided to take Hunter, Madi, Jacob and Cole to Fat Cats and the Pizza factory. What's better than the Bread Twists? After we ate, we took them into Fat Cats to play games...4 kids and Virgil in a crowded video arcade! yikes! I asked Virgil to keep an eye on Cole and Hunter, because they were in the same area and I went with Madi and Jacob. I came back to check on Hunter and Cole and couldn't see Cole so I asked Virgil where Cole was. He says "Right there" pointing to a little boy with a gray sweatshirt and camo pants on like Coles...only this little boy was about 7 years old! I said "that's not Cole", so Virgil said "Oh, there he is", and pointed to another little boy with a gray sweetshirt and camo pants on...You guessed it that
wasn't Cole either. (I am sure by now Lindsey is freaking out reading this) Anyway I found him he was just playing a shooting game (go figure). I decided to keep them all with me after that! We all had a really good time!
If you have been there you know you get tickets when you play the games...Madi kept all of her tickets that she won and I held on to the boys tickets. When we were out of tokens we went to redeem the tickets for prizes. The line was long and Virgil was tired and whining that he wanted to go home so I told the kids they needed to hurry and pick something...ya right!, I also said maybe a little too loud, "just hurry this is all junk anyway"...the cute girl behind the counter heard me and asked the kids what they wanted. Madi had 76 points in tickets and the boys had about 120 to share.
The cute counter girl let Madi and Hunter each have these things that were 150 points and the 2 little boys got cars that were 70 points! Everyone was happy!
Pizza and Bread Twists = $30.00
Tokens = $20.00
Spending time with Grandchildren= Priceless

American Idol Party...
I went to an American Idol Party last night...thanks Ang for inviting me! It was really fun and the food was great. I am sorry that David A. didn't win! I do like David Cook though...he won me over when he got so emotional when his brother that has a brain tumor was in the audience...also he was pretty cute when he sang "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"...he winked at his Mom and said "Hi, Mom"...I love boys that love their mother's! Anywho... Check out pic's from last night's fun on Angela's blog.

Carrie Ann...
Carrie is my Daughter-in-Law,
The Mother of 3 of my cute grandchildren...
My Son's Wife...
She is a wonderful person.
A favorite Memory of Carrie:
The whole family had gone to California for Ty and Carrie's Wedding Reception. They got married in Utah and had a reception in Utah and a week later in California...
Anyway...We stopped at a gas station somewhere in California to get gas and to use the restroom. We all took turns going in and out of the bathroom...I was in there with Carrie and an older woman who needed a little help. Carrie was so sweet and kind to her and asked if she could help her. I thought to myself Wow...Ty had hit the jackpot...Not many 19 year old girls would be willing to help a total stranger in the restroom. I knew she was a Jewel before then put that just confirmed what I already knew. Carrie is always willing to help me and others. She is always making Dinner for someone in the neighborhood. She takes elderly neighbors to Dr's Appointments...she takes another neighbor grocery shopping every week...She is always doing something for someone! She is a good example of SERVICE!
Things I Love about Carrie:
Her Smile...
Her Friendliness...
Her Ability to Serve...
Her Love for her Family...
Her Kindness...
Her Eyes...
Her Sence of Humor...
Her Eagerness to Learn New Things...(Blogging)
Her Willingness to always help me or her Sisters-in-law...
Thank you Carrie for all you do for me...I really love you! You are one of my
favorite JEWELS!

Melancholy...
I am feeling melancholy...What a great word. I hate when I feel this way and I can't pinpoint what the problem is. I don't know if it is feeling helpless because of the death of my Aunt Joyce, and wishing the funeral wasn't so far away...or if it is something else...I just feel melancholy...
Anyone have any great ideas on what to do when you feel like this?
Anyone...Anyone...

Aunt Joyce...
I just got a phone call from my Mom to let me know that my Sweet Aunt Joyce had just passed away. I am sad! I feel so bad for my Mom, my Aunt Joyce lived in England and my Mom is in San Diego...I asked her if she wanted to go to England just to be there...she said there really isn't anything she could do. I also think that it is a really long and hard trip for her to make by herself...I wish I was wealthy...I would love to take her there. I am sad about my Aunt but I think I am even more sad for my Mom...She just cried and I think she felt helpless. She kept saying she was so glad that we went to England this past Fall to visit Aunt Joyce and Aunt Betty...it was Betty we were worried about, she is the one in a Nursing Home.
So even though I didn't pick my Aunt Joyce's name out of the box, She was certainly a jewel. Aunt Joyce lived in Canterbury, England, right by the Canterbury Cathedral.
The things I love about Aunt Joyce...
Her Kindness...
Her Funny Ways...
Her Salmon Sandwiches...(Not really)
Her Gentleness...
Her Sweetness...
Her Love for the Gospel...
Her Funny Accent...
Her Love for my Mother...
Her Love for her Son and Daughter...
Her Love for her Grandchildren...
I am so glad that I got to see her one last time...I wish that we would have had more time together...Sue, Nancy and I went on a walk...and we were gone longer than we should have been...We found a Shopping Mall (We are all Shoppers) but, I wish I could get that time back and just sit and visit with my Sweet Aunt Joyce...
When we got back she had made Salmon Sandwiches, and she also had the biggest raspberries I had ever seen with Ice Cream...the ice cream had melted but it still was so good...I think because Aunt Joyce had made it...I am also so sad that none of us took a picture of My Mom and Aunt Joyce...DUH!
I am so glad that now Aunt Joyce is with my Grandma and Grandpa and what a wonderful reunion it must have been.
I Love you Aunt Joyce...till we meet again...

When B-Mann climbs in my lap and asked why his Mom didn't name him Super or Spider...
When Cole calls me his Grandma...
When Molly gives me big hugs and kisses...
When Owen calls me from California to tell me about Disneyland...
I Love these little kids...They are one of my greatest joys...these 7 beautiful little children...
